Do you offer office hour sessions for extra guidance?

At the moment, there are no plans to include global office hour sessions with the course. However, you can always connect with your instructor to set up a time for extra guidance if needed!

What is the purpose of taking this course?

This course, despite the official name being a boot camp prep course, really serves 2 purposes.

First and foremost, it serves as a stepping stone for software education. The goal of this course is to provide you with enough knowledge and practice with common boot camp technologies to guarantee that you will not only be admitted into top boot camps, but also that you will thrive compared to your peers in them.

Second, this course is meant to gauge your interest in taking a software boot camp. Taking a full-time boot camp requires a large commitment in terms of both time and money. On top of requiring you to quit your job to fully commit to completing one, they often cost well over 5 figures! Our course, on the other hand, is a part-time course that mirrors a lot of the structure, material, and learning process of a traditional software boot camp. By taking our course first, you can gain more insight on whether a software boot camp is actually right for you.

I see that several boot camps already offer their own prep courses. Why should I take yours?

Indeed, several boot camps do offer their own prep courses. However, despite the similar titles, they really serve different purposes. With the asynchronous precourses that some boot camps offer, you're required to be self-motivated to complete these courses in a timely fashion. On top of this, there is no live instructor guidance for any topics that confuse you.

The synchronous precourses, on the other hand, often times just don't go over enough material to give you any sort of advantage over your peers. Assuming that you will end up taking their official boot camp directly after their precourse, they have no incentive to provide you with any more than the bare minimum amount of information. With our course, we will be going more material in more detail than a boot camp's own synchronous prep course.

What's the benefit of taking this course over a fully asynchronous online course?

The material provided in our course and a fully asynchronous online course will be largely the same. The difference lies in your preferred method of learning and your time constraints.

In our course, our instructors have carefully structured and planned the course material in a way to maximize your learning efficiency and minimize the difficulty of the subjects. On top of this, taking a synchronous course rather than an asynchronous one will guarantee that you will learn the material in a specific time period, in this case, 6 weeks.

I really enjoyed the course! Are there any other subjects you're teaching?

At the moment, we are sticking to the one course offered. However, there are plans to expand into more advanced computer science topics, such as AI and Machine Learning, API architecture, and Web Development.
